Anick Desrosiers is completing a PhD at the School of Social Work at McGill University. Through an ethnographic approach grounded in fieldwork, she seeks to deepen our understanding of how trauma shapes life trajectories and contributes to homelessness, with the aim of supporting more humane, safety-oriented, and dignity-based practices.
Drawing on her intimate, professional, and academic experience of street realities, she has developed a community-based psychotherapy practice with women experiencing homelessness, while also supporting the growth of future social workers, frontline homelessness workers, and service managers in the evolution of their practices.
At the intersection of research, clinical work, and social action, she facilitates spaces of collective reflection on trauma-informed practices and advocates for a systemic transformation of how we respond to homelessness. Recognized for her ability to bridge lived experience, professional knowledge, and academic insight, she is committed to building a society where care is not the exception, but a shared responsibility..
